Always fueled by ambitions of power, the practice of various forms of discrimination is one of the most pressing social problems in Guatemala today. This concept addresses visions of racism from Guatemala’s historical and anthropological perspectives as well as those experienced in the Global South. The artists gathered here talk about the social and cultural consequences of both direct and representational violence: poverty, discrimination and segregation, while dealing with  exoticization and cultural transformations due to colonization processes.
