08 Jan Edgar Calel
How Edgar Calel sees the world is from art. His installations, objects, drawings and paintings respond to his ancestral heritage. Calel materializes and illustrates in his work the gestures and poetry in Mayan Kaqchiquel traditions. Intangible elements like the fragrance of fruits and the sounds of birds can be starting points of his projects. His works have included exchanges with indigenous groups outside Guatemala, in countries like Brazil or Paraguay.
